AERC will launch the Commercial Technical Committee June 23, 2026, to expand our ability beyond secondary windows to serve as the leading national authority for commercial buildings on delivering standardized energy performance ratings.
The committee will support the development of commercial certification requirements, technical procedures, performance criteria, and market communication strategies for commercial window covering products. The group will also support AERC’s ongoing work related to ASHRAE 90.1, California Title 24, and the IECC. This ensures window coverings are appropriately represented in future code and energy efficiency discussions while simplifying the ability for architects, specifiers, designers and owners to choose the best window attachment solutions for their project needs.
AERC encourages manufacturers and industry stakeholders to participate and help shape the future of commercial product certification.
