Why Should you Join the AERC?

The Attachments Energy Rating Council (AERC) is an exciting opportunity for organizations and individuals to have a clear voice and vote in the development of a robust rating, labeling, and certification program for window attachments.

Window attachments are a cost-effective means of reducing energy use in both the residential and commercial buildings and have the potential to save significant energy in residential and commercial buildings through the rapid turnover of the installed base and their relatively low cost. At present there is no accurate method to assess the performance of individual products or for consumers to distinguish among the relative energy saving performance of window attachment products. This is your opportunity to help fill this gap, and bring substantial savings to consumers.

Members are Critical to our Success

AERC members are critical to the success of the program and will be the drivers of the key technical, marketing, certification, and organizational decisions needed to create a successful energy rating program for consumers. AERC will provide consumers with the information they need to make informed decisions about purchasing window attachments and maximizing energy savings.

Opportunities to Serve

AERC members have the opportunity to serve on committees, sub-committees, and working groups, and only members can vote on ballots for developing AERC’s rating procedures and policies. Participating on committees and casting your vote is your opportunity to contribute your ideas on important issues.

Bring your Expertise

AERC membership allows you to bring your expertise to the development of this organization and program, and help ensure its future success. Join AERC today to bring your ideas into action and help consumers make energy efficient choices.

AERC Certification Programs

AERC’s certification programs provide accurate and credible information about the energy performance of window attachments, which will help consumers, including homeowners, architects, and builders, make informed decisions about window attachment products.
